Techsnap Private Limited, referred to as Techsnap, we, or us, is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all users including students, parents, educators, universities, partners, and visitors to our platform. This Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, store, share, secure, and process personal data when you use our services. It also describes your rights and choices regarding your information.

By using Techsnap services, creating an account, or accessing our platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your personal information according to applicable law. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should stop using our services.

2. Our Role as an Education Technology Platform

Techsnap provides an education technology platform that works closely with universities, colleges, educational institutions, departments, and training partners. Through these partnerships we support learning, assessments, testing, certifications, academic analytics, mentoring, placement preparation, and related services.

In some cases, we may receive student data directly from educational institutions under lawful agreements. In other cases, students create accounts individually on our platform. In every situation we handle student data responsibly, securely, and strictly for educational purposes only. We do not sell personal or student data.

3. Compliance With Laws and Regulations

Techsnap adheres to privacy and data protection requirements including:

  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
  • Information Technology Act, 2000
  • Information Technology Rules, 2011
  • UGC and AICTE EdTech advisories regarding student data
  • CERT-In cybersecurity guidelines

Where applicable we also follow international best practices including principles inspired by GDPR, COPPA, FERPA style educational confidentiality, and global edtech privacy frameworks.

Note: Techsnap may act as a Data Fiduciary when collecting data directly from users and as a Data Processor when handling data on behalf of institutions. In both roles, we operate according to lawful purpose, necessity, transparency, and data minimization.

4. Information We Collect

Techsnap collects information in three primary ways:

Examples of information that may be collected include your name, email address, mobile number, institution name, program details, usage data, test performance, progress analytics, device identifiers, IP address, and communication history.

5. Information Collected From Universities and Institutions

When universities or institutions partner with Techsnap they may share certain student information with us for academic and administrative purposes. Such information is shared under formal agreements or Memorandum of Understanding and is used only for delivering services requested by the institution such as assessments, analytics, training, or certification services.

7. Consent First Approach

Techsnap follows a strict consent-first model. We process personal information only when consent is given or when another lawful ground exists.

Withdrawal of consent may limit access to certain services but does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.

We do not use deceptive consent methods or dark patterns, and we do not require consent for unnecessary tracking.

8. Student and Minor Privacy

Techsnap may be used by students who are minors depending on institution policies. When required by law, parental or institutional authorization is obtained before processing such information. We do not knowingly collect data from children without lawful consent and we do not commercially profile minors.

9. Tracking Technologies and Cookies

Techsnap uses cookies, session identifiers, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate and improve our platform. These technologies support login security, exam continuity, saved preferences, fraud detection, performance optimization, offline usage, and academic analytics. We do not use tracking technologies to sell data, profile minors for advertising, perform cross-site surveillance, or track users secretly.

This information helps safeguard account security, fight fraud, improve system performance, and understand platform usage patterns.

11. Sharing of Information

Techsnap may share information under limited conditions including sharing with universities that a student is affiliated with, service providers necessary for delivery such as hosting or email infrastructure, legal authorities when required by law, analytics providers under confidentiality agreements, and professional advisors for compliance or auditing purposes. We do not sell personal data and we do not share student records for unrelated advertising purposes.
